Character Information
Name: Aera Mirus Fleuret
Canon: Final Fantasy: XV
Canon Point: Directly after her death in Episode Ardyn.
Age: 28
History: https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Aera_Mirus_Fleuret
Personality: Aera is a kind, gentle woman whom wants only the best for the world and for those she holds dearest to her. She's deeply devoted to her Gods and the calling that they have bestowed upon her, and she is determined to do all that she can to heal those afflicted with the Starscourge and allow the people of their Star to know the will of their Gods. While she is serious and stern when it comes to her calling and what needs to be done, in the presence of those she is closest to she is bright, bubbly, and very excitable. She can be extremely pouty and huffy to the point of it being almost comical, especially when it comes to her beloved Ardyn and his apparent lack of paying attention to her (he is (was), after all, a very busy man).
As kind hearted as Aera is, she is not afraid to speak up when the time calls for it. She will snap retorts back if it's called for and match attitudes if need be. She does not go looking for shouting matches or fights, naturally, but she is hardly the type to stand still and take a verbal beating.
Speaking of beatings, she's not one to stand still and take any sort of beat down period. While she's not super skilled in combat, she is also no stranger to it and uses her weapon, the Trident of the Oracle that was gifted to her by the God Bahamut himself, to defend herself and others, and to make quick work of those whom have fallen to the Scourge and have become daemons. Not only does she use her weapon, but she uses her healing and light magic in battle as well. She is not a coward by any stretch of the imagination, and will gladly stand up for what is right. Fearless in the face of daemons and danger, she works tirelessly to fight for her Gods, the light, and the forces of all that is good.
But at the end of the day, Aera is more of a lover than a fighter, and when she loves, she loves deeply and endlessly. While she adores her friends and extended family, her servants and even her guards, her heart has only ever been open to one man: Ardyn Lucis Caelum. Her love for him is unwavering, and just as much so even in death. She had looked forward to marrying him and becoming a true family, to be able to stand with him and fight at his side against the Scourge. To be able to help anoint him as the True King.
Unfortunately, for all of her better traits, Aera has a few not-so-good ones as well. She is a bit naive and tends to place her trust in the wrong people; i.e Somnus Lucis Caelum. That decision ultimately lead to her death at his hands as she tried to defend her lover from a fatal strike with his sword. She wants to believe the best in everyone, even if those people do not have the best intentions, and she truly believed she could trust Somnus. Having been associated with both he and his brother for most of her life, when he tried to kill Ardyn it came as quite a shock to her —— how could a brother betray his own flesh and blood in such a way?
To add insult to injury, her misguided trust not only leads to her demise but to Ardyn being imprisoned and exiled from Lucis; his crown, kingdom, and throne forfeited to his younger brother all because she made the mistake of defying the Gods and telling an impatient and jealous Somnus the truth: that Ardyn was to sit the throne as the first king of Lucis.
Touching upon the above naivety, she seems to cave to peer pressure. This is very notable when, during the ceremony to see which of the Caelum brothers would serve as king, Somnus forces his way in to the ceremonial chamber and demands to know just what the Draconian has shown her. Bahamut had told her not to tell Somnus, not to tell anyone immediately, but when faced with Somnus breathing down her neck, she gave in. She defied the Gods and their wishes by telling him what he wanted to know, that it was not he who was chosen, and that was a decision that completely changed the course of destiny and history in a chain reaction that, ultimately, could never be reversed.
Abilities & Skills: Aera is the Oracle of Eos, the first in what will become a very long line of Oracles after her passing. As such, she is the vessel of the Gods. Through her, the Six are able to commune with the people of Eos and she is able to pass their will along to the people. Her title also grants her access to healing magic, the likes of which can be used to heal wounds and other afflictions, but it is mainly for use in ridding the Starscourge in those whom are infected. As Oracle, she is also able to forge Covenants with the Gods as needed, and would have done so for Ardyn had he ascended the throne.
Her mere presence, like the Oracles who are destined to come after her, slows the darkness and keeps it from completely enveloping their star. It is said that before her death, she traveled the world with her Trident in hand, working tirelessly and diligently to purge their star of the Scourge, which sadly turns those who are infected into monsterous daemons. While they only appear at night, the larger the number of daemons, the longer the nights stretch on. Which is why it is up to her to work as quickly as possible to heal those infected and do what she can to prevent it from spreading to the best of her abilities.
Inventory/Companions: The only thing she will be entering with is her Trident, the weapon given to her by the Draconian, Bahamut. It is her weapon of choice and her only weapon.
Choice: Witch.
Reason: I felt that being a Witch would be perfect for Aera, considering her title as Oracle at home and her healing abilities and magic. Even those those powers and abilities will be nerfed and voided, the fact that she has magic and is so devoted to learning more about how she can use her powers to help those around her is a huge factor into this decision. Also, being able to commune with the Gods and forge covenants with them if need be, it makes perfect sense to make her a witch so that she can forge bonds with monsters down the line.
